Jason Statham's terrifying near death experience unveiled
The Expandables 3: How Jason Statham escaped fatal accident

Jason Statham, Hollywood actor, has made a name out of the fearless and tough-as-nails action heroes. Whether it is car chases high-speed, or bloody fight-fueled scenes, he is now one of the most known Hollywood stars in terms of adrenaline based block-busters.
However, it is quite clear that behind the lenses of The Expendables 3, the 58-year-old was brought too close to a real-life tragedy that would have claimed his life.
Statham was behind the wheel of a three ton stunt truck which was to harmlessly pass into the Black Sea in a well orchestrated stunt when the film was being made of an action sequence.
Nevertheless, everything went terribly wrong when the brakes of the truck went wrong. The car did not halt at the specified point, but crashed and could not be stopped; and before anyone could do anything, Statham was racing towards the water. It was quite a scary condition. The truck sunk in a very short time leaving Statham inside.
Members of the cast and crew ran up to the edge in disbelief, and they horrifyingly watched the star disappear beneath the surface. This would have been the downfall of most actors, but the actual life experience of a former competitive diver, Statham, became his redeemer.
Only by brute force and calmness was he able to get out of the vehicle, which has been drowned and swim to safety, just to avoid what would have otherwise been a fatal accident.
Even the creator of the franchise Sylvester Stallone and the co-star of Statham confessed later the cast was rattled by the incident. In interviews, Stallone stated that possibly it could have ended just as different as could have happened with any other person behind the wheel.
He referred to Statham as an action hero in real life, commending his composure when faced with imminent peril and survival instincts. The near-death experience contributed to The Expendables 3 an additional sense of reality, but in the case of Statham, it was not only a memory of sheer terror, it was also a reminder of the razor-thin line between Hollywood showbiz and the reality of life.
People are still amazed at the fact how close the actor was to a disaster and this fact contributed to his reputation as an action star, but as the man who lives the roles he performs in the movies.
