5 interesting details about Prince Harry that may surprise you

Prince Harry has always been under the spotlight amongst the members of the British Royal family and the limelight over him had only grown in the recent years with constant media attention on him and his wife Meghan Markle.
But beyond the headlines and controversies, there are plenty of fascinating and quite interesting details about his life that the public may not know about.
Let’s take a look at some of the most riveting facts about the Duke of Sussex:
What’s his real name?
Even though the world knows and recognises him as Harry, that’s not the name he was officially given at the time of his birth.
Born on September 15, 1984, the Duke entered the world as Henry Charles Albert David.
While his official christening on December 21, 1984, at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, gave him the name Henry, his family quickly began calling him Harry.
Academic background:
Prince Harry completed his education with two A-Levels in Art and Geography at Eton.
He reportedly earned a B grade in Art and a D grade in Geography and decided against attending university and took a gap year, spending it working on a cattle station in Australia before enrolling himself in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in May 2005.
Later in his memoir Spare, he revealed that academics didn’t come easily to him and struggled to keep up during his time at Eton.
Secret Wedding Ceremony?
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan opened up about a surprising secret. The Duchess of Sussex disclosed that she and Prince Harry had privately tied the knot ahead of the official ceremony at Windsor Castle.
"This thing, this spectacle, is for the world, but we want our union between us," she expressed.
Harry confirmed this sentiment in his 2023 memoir, explaining that although it wasn’t legally binding, they chose to share this private moment before the big official wedding.
His journey to the South Pole
Back in 2013, Harry joined 12 wounded servicemen and women from the UK and the US and Commonwealth nations on a 200-mile trek to the South Pole.
Love for dogs
In his memoir, the 40-year-old Duke detailed his longing for a pet dog, saying, "I’d wanted a dog for so long, and I’d never been able to have one because I’d been such a nomad."
But now Prince Harry along with Meghan Markle and their two children, welcomed several canines into their family.
