David Beckham has officially received his knighthood from King Charles during the latest investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, November 4.

The former footballer was recognised for his services in sport and charity, while he was joined by his wife, Victoria Beckham, and his parents for the occasion.

When he was first announced among the list of honourees for a knighthood earlier this year, Lady Beckham had gushed about her husband’s achievement with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

“You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you,” the former Spice Girl had shared in June.

It is being reported that the dark and dapper suit which the co-owner of Inter Miami FC wore on his way to becoming Sir David was actually designed by his wife. Yahoo Entertainment noted that “it is the first time that the fashion designer has designed for her husband.”

David Beckham was also named an ambassador for The King’s Foundation last year, while the beaming recipient of knighthood told PA News Agency ahead of his ceremony, “Growing up in east London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.”
