Amanda Seyfried hints at 'Mamma Mia 3'
Amanda Seyfried seems to be holding hopes to cast another blonde star for a potential third Mamma Mia film.
The 39-year-old actress expressed her interest in bringing pop-star Sabrina Carpenter on board into the world of Mamma Mia and also recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she would love for her The Housemaid co-star Sydney Sweeney to be a part of it too.
During her chat with the outlet, at the Governors Awards, the Mean Girls star was asked about a potential third sequel of the musical, to which she replied, "Maybe I’m just naive, but I’m pretty sure ‘Mamma Mia 3’ is a done deal."
While the second film was a prequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Amanda stated that she envisions “Mamma Mia 3” returning to present-day Sophie, along with introducing some new faces.
Sabrina was reportedly once considered for Sophie’s daughter, but Amanda proposed she take on a different familial role.
“I love portraying a mom, so I would love to see Sophie with her kids,” she said.
“Maybe she has a cousin she hasn’t seen in a while, and that could be Sabrina Carpenter. And then Sydney Sweeney could show up. There’s a bunch of girls that really want to be a part of it, and I’m all for it.”
It is pertinent to note that, there has been no official announcement for Mamma Mia 3. However, producer Judy Craymer has revealed that a script is already in the works.
