Queen Camilla accompanied King Charles to official state banquet on December 3
Queen Camilla appeared in an elegant choice of tiara, rivalling Kate Middleton’s big moment, at the state dinner held at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, December 3.
While the Princess of Wales made her debut in a head sparkler belonging to Queen Victoria, her mother-in-law and the Queen Consort, Camilla shone alongside King Charles in the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara and a teal-coloured lace gown designed by Fiona Clare.
Marie Claire reported, “Queen Mary received the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara as a wedding gift in 1893, with the funds for the dazzling diamond piece having been raised by a committee of young women across the United Kingdom and Ireland — hence its name.”
While the royal family’s official Instagram shared a portrait of the King and Queen posing with their current guests, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender, at the Windsor banquet.
“This evening, The King and Queen hosted a State Banquet at Windsor Castle, in honour of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Ms. Büdenbender,” the caption revealed.
Queen Camilla and King Charles had spent their day meeting with the German first couple and showing them around Windsor Castle, before they stepped out for the state banquet in the evening.
