Stanger Things cast members gathered for a tense table read as the Duffer Brothers revealed the shocking twist about Season 5.

As per Deadline, on Thursday, December 4, the series’ official YouTube page shared a behind the scenes video of the Duffer Brother surprising the cast with the conclusion of season 5’s chapter 4: Sorcerer.

In the story’s explosive final moments, hope seemed gone as Demogorgons tore through the military base where Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, and his friends struggled to escape while Eleven remained trapped in the Upside Down and suddenly everything shifted.

The monsters froze mid-air and smashed, and it became clear that Will was telekinetically controlling them.

As Will looked up, blood dripping from his nose mirrored Eleven’s familiar side effect, signing a new power awakening within him.

Noah discussed the conclusion with Deadline, “I think people mistake fear for weakness. Will has had a lot of fear through the years, because of what he’s had to endure, but that doesn’t mean he’s weak.”

The actor explained, “He’s pushed through that and come out stronger, and he does it scared every time. He always comes back, and he never crumbles. So that is his strength and I think he shows that in the end, that he is stronger than we all think.”

Co-creator, Matt Duffer emphasised that Season 5 was always meant to return to Will’s story. “When we first started talking about Season 5, we started talking about Will… he’s a central character,” he explained.

He added, “So we liked the idea of tying that into some of the more supernatural elements, that in order to become his most powerful self, he had to also really come to terms with who he is.”

For the unversed, Stranger Things' newly released four episodes are now streaming on Netflix.

The next three episodes will arrive on Christmas Day and the finale lands on New Year’s Eve.
