Kelsey Parker breaks silence on emotional struggle ahead of tragic anniversary
The mother-of-three shares a heartfelt message about loss, healing, and living with grief
Kelsey Parker has opened up about her emotional struggle as she approaches the first anniversary of her stillborn son Phoenix’s death.
The 36-year-old TV personality shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Friday, June 19, reflecting on grief and the difficult milestone she is preparing to face this Father’s Day weekend.
Kelsey and her partner Will Lindsay lost their son Phoenix at 39 weeks on June 21, 2025.
The date holds added emotional weight for the family, coming just one year after the devastating loss.
In her post, Kelsey explained that she had stepped back from social media in the days leading up to the anniversary as she focused on work and processing her emotions.
“I’ve been really quiet on here the last couple of days,” she wrote. “Truthfully, I’ve been working a lot, trying to keep busy and just processing the fact that Sunday is a big day.”
She continued, “It’s Phoenix’s first anniversary, and it’s Father’s Day too.”
Kelsey reflected on the unpredictable nature of grief, describing how it can shift between moments of strength and overwhelming emotion.
“Grief is a strange thing. Some days you can keep going and stay busy, and other days it all catches up with you,” she wrote.
“I’m learning that both things can exist at once. I can feel excited about this next chapter of life, be grateful for everything I have, and still deeply miss my little boy and wish things had been different.”
The mother also offered support to others experiencing loss, encouraging them to allow themselves to feel their emotions.
“If you’re navigating grief, anniversaries or simply carrying something heavy right now, please know you’re not alone,” she added. “As always… stop waiting, start living. But also, give yourself permission to feel it all.”
Kelsey has previously spoken openly about her grief following the death of her son and her late husband, The Wanted singer Tom Parker, who died from a brain tumour in 2022.
In recent weeks, she also revealed that she and Lindsay are expecting a “rainbow baby,” sharing a symbolic announcement featuring an ultrasound image and a white feather.
Following Phoenix’s passing in June 2025, Kelsey posted a poem in his memory, describing him as “our angel light” and saying he would “live in hearts that won’t ask why.”
She also previously shared a memorial tribute to both Tom and Phoenix, highlighting how their memory continues to remain present in her life.
