Kate Middleton shares heart-warming note from young girl to Princess Charlotte
Princess Kate and Prince William posted Grace Barrett’s letter to Princess Charlotte on Instagram
Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a touching handwritten letter from 10-year-old Grace Barrett, addressed to Princess Charlotte, on their official Instagram story.
The post came a day after an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle with King Charles.
Grace’s mother Carly Barrett and grandmother Alison Madgin were honoured during the event for their charity work.
The two women run Samantha’s Legacy, which raises awareness of knife crime and supports bereaved families.
The Instagram post included a video of King Charles presenting an honour to Mrs Barrett, who wore a green dress, with Mrs Madgin by her side.
The pair placed the video beneath Grace’s neatly written note to Princess Charlotte.
Grace introduced herself in the letter, writing, “My name is Grace Barrett, and I’m 10 years old. Just [like] you!”
She explained her visit, “on [9th] December with my mum, Carly Barrett, who is being [awarded] an MBE for her special work helping people affected with crime.”
“I’m really proud of them both and feel honoured to be going with them,” Grace proudly noted her grandmother’s recognition.
Mrs Madgin has campaigned extensively to improve support for victims’ families following the tragic loss of her other daughter, Samantha.
Beneath the note, the Prince and Princess of Wales added, “Thank you to Grace Barrett for her letter to Princess Charlotte about all the brilliant work her mum and grandmother do.”
The post highlighted Prince William and Princess Kate’s focus on celebrating ordinary families making a difference, encouraging engagement between young people and the monarchy while shining a light on community achievements across the UK.
