Elon Musk widens wealth gap as Tesla rally pushes his fortune far ahead of rivals
Elon Musk has once again reshaped the global wealth rankings
Elon Musk has once again reshaped the global wealth rankings, dramatically widening the gap between himself and the rest of the world’s richest individuals.
The surge in his fortune comes amid a renewed rally in Tesla shares, which has propelled the billionaire far ahead of his closest competitors.
According to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, Musk’s net worth now stands at approximately $681 billion, cementing his position as the world’s wealthiest person.
That figure is more than double the fortune of the next closest billionaire, Larry Page, whose wealth is estimated at $249 billion.
The rest of the top five remains tightly clustered behind the Google co-founder. Jeff Bezos follows with an estimated $239 billion, while Sergey Brin and Larry Ellison hold around $229.9 and $229.6 billion, respectively.
The latest jump in Musk's wealth follows a strong performance in Tesla stock, which recently climbed to a fresh record closing high, its first since December 2024.
The rally was fueled by investor optimism after Musk revealed that the electric vehicle maker is testing its robotaxi technology without safety monitors in the front passenger seat, a development that renewed excitement around Tesla’s autonomous ambitions.
