Jack Black says ‘Anaconda’ reboot felt 'very close to home' for him and Paul Rudd

Jack Black said the upcoming Anaconda reboot felt personal for both him and co-star Paul Rudd.
While speaking with People, the actor said, “In a way, we are playing ourselves.”
He further added, “It was very close to home. It’s friends going out to make their dreams come true.”
The film is directed by Tom Gormican, a remake of the 1997 horror with a comedic tone.
Moreover, Black said the project appealed to him for the combination of genres.
“I love horror and I love comedy,” he said, calling the movie a mix “peanut butter and jelly.”
Rudd also told the outlet that he's related to the characters’ love of filmmaking, recalling making movies as a teenager. “That’s very near and dear to my heart,” he said.
Despite the pressures of production, both actors said their goal was simple, enjoy the process.
“That’s the art,” Black said. “Finding fun in the stress and putting something good on screen.”
