Patrick Swayze’s brother Sean Swayze dies aged 63 after health battle

Patrick Swayze’s younger brother Sean Swayze has died aged 63 after battling serious health issues, according to reports.
Sean passed away on December 15, 2025, with TMZ reporting that it later obtained a copy of his death certificate.
The outlet citing the document states that he died from an acute upper gastrointestinal bleed and severe metabolic acidosis linked to alcoholic liver cirrhosis, the outlet said.
The death was publicly confirmed days later by Sean’s cousin, Rachel M. Leon, who shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on December 20.
Posting photos of Sean wearing a T-shirt, she wrote: “I’m heartbroken to share that my cousin Sean Swayze passed away today,” she wrote.
She went on to explain that the shirt was part of a tribute linked to Dirty Dancing and created in honour of her late cousin Patrick Swayze.
Unlike his famous brother, Sean largely worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry as an entertainment Teamster in Los Angeles. He is survived by his three children, Cassie, Kyle and Jesse.
