Emily Ratajkowski shares cryptic post aims at New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani?
The supermodel's post has set social media buzzing
Emily Ratajkowski once again displayed her unfiltered persona, this time through a cryptic Instagram post that appeared to take an indirect swipe at New York politician Zohran Mamdani.
On January 8, a supermodel, actress, and author took to her Instagram and shared a cryptic series of photos, which aimed at Zohran Mamdani, who served as the 112th mayor of New York City since 2026.
The first photo showcases Emrata twerking at a grocery store, wearing a black bra with a long sheer skirt of the same colour.
On the second slide, she stood inside a mosque, from her recent UAE visit, surrounded by tall white columns and shining chandeliers that reached far away.
She wore a long white abaya-style dress with a delicate white headscarf, with minimal light makeup.
However, the sudden shift in presentation led some viewers to speculate, due to her surprising caption, that wrote as, "mamdani’s new york!!" the post subtly mocked or taunted Mamdani by invoking religious and cultural symbolism.
For the unversed, Mamdani comes from a Muslim background, where modesty and the wearing of the hijab are often encouraged and culturally respected.
Ratajkowski appeared to soften the impact by keeping the remaining images relatively understated.
This balance suggested that while the first two photos carried a cryptic or indirect message, the overall post stopped short of overt controversy.
