The remarkable journey of Taylor Swift to fame is now being captured in a new way.

Washington Post entertainment journalist Emily Yahr, in collaboration with St. Martin's Publishing Group, is giving Swifties and music lovers a treat with Taylor Swift: The Debut Years.

“As a reporter who has spent the last decade covering Taylor Swift’s career, as well as writing extensively about country music, combining these two topics was a dream project,” Yahr told People exclusively.

“And after interviewing more than 100 people, I discovered the story of Taylor’s first 10 years in Nashville — from ‘unknown teenage singer-songwriter’ to the ‘biggest pop star on the planet’ — was even more fascinating than I could have predicted. I’m so excited for people to learn everything I found out,” she added.

The upcoming book will mark the 20th anniversary of Swift’s debut album, which launched the now 36-year-old’s musical journey in 2006.

“While Taylor fans will enjoy these new details — whether you know every word to 'I'd Lie' or started listening around the 'Folklore'/'Evermore' era — this book is also for anyone curious about the inner workings of the music industry or nostalgic for the early 2000s country scene,” Yahr said.

Taylor Swift: The Debut Years vividly recreates Swift’s early Nashville days in 2003, from mastering a 12-string guitar to navigating a world where she was often the youngest in the room.

Yahr emphasizes that the path of the 14-time Grammy winner was far from simple. The book details bold decisions, like leaving a powerhouse label like RCA for an underfunded venture and trusting her instincts when others doubted her.

Readers will be transported to iconic venues such as Music Row, The Bluebird Cafe, Hendersonville High School, and the Swifts’ picturesque lakefront home.

Taylor Swift: The Debut Years is set for release on October 6 and is available for pre-order at all major booksellers.
