Elle Fanning chooses presence over pressure: ‘I’m trying to stay more present’
The 'Great' star was honored at the festival with the International Star Award
Elle Fanning has one goal for the year 2026, and it sounds very simple.
While speaking exclusively to People at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards, the actress said she’s working to stop overthinking the future and enjoy what’s right in front of her.
“I’m trying to stay more present,” Fanning shared adding, “I’m a big dreamer, which is good, but I can spiral by thinking too far ahead. I need to live in the moment.”
The Predator Badland star was honored at the festival with the International Star Award for her work in Sentimental Value.
“People have a very emotional response,” she said, noting that some viewers told her the movie inspired them to reconnect with estranged parents. “That’s a beautiful thing.”
The film, which stars Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård, follows a woman forced to reconnect with her famous, distant father after her mother’s death.
Additionally, Fanning also teased her upcoming role as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
“That world is so great,” she said with a smile. “And the costumes? I already have a lot of selfies.” Elle said.
