Jennifer Lawrence under fire after revealing she rehomed her dog
The 'Red Sparrow' actress is receiving online criticism after she recounted a dog bitten incident
Jennifer Lawrence has faced backlash after revealing she rehomed her chihuahua following an incident in which the dog bit her young son.
The Red Sparrow actress received online criticism after she recounted an incident during a recent New York City screening of her film Die My Love.
While reflecting on how motherhood has shifted her relationship with pets, the actress said one of her dogs bit her child, prompting her to place the animal with her parents.
Her comments, including a hyperbolic remark about wanting to “obliterate every dog,” quickly circulated on social media drawing sharp reactions from fans and animal lovers.
Still, Lawrence received support from parents and pet professionals who defended her decision as a safety-first choice.
In the clip, Lawrence explained that becoming a mother dramatically altered her perception of dogs around her children.
“After I had a kid, my dogs became so scary,” she said adding that she now instinctively views them as potential threats.
Jennifer Lawrence later clarified that the dog is living safely with her parents.
