Kate Middleton and Prince William mention Princess Charlotte during Scotland visit
The Prince and Princess of Wales each reference their daughter, Princess Charlotte in separate moments
Princess Charlotte has been name-dropped more than once during Kate Middleton and Prince William’s recent outing in Scotland.
During a day of engagements in Stirling and Falkirk on January 20, the Prince and Princess of Wales each referenced their daughter, Princess Charlotte, in separate moments that delighted onlookers.
Prince William, 43, appeared visibly amused when he met a young girl who shared the same name as his 10-year-old daughter.
In a video shared on social media, the royal leaned down and warmly said, “You’re Charlotte? I’ve got a Charlotte too. My daughter’s called Charlotte too.”
He then asked the girl how old she was and whether she had been practicing curling, a nod to the couple’s visit with Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic curling teams, before encouraging her as a “future champion.”
Princess Charlotte also came up during Princess Kate’s visit to Radical Weavers, a tartan-weaving studio in Stirling.
According to Hello! Magazine, Kate was presented with a handmade crochet bunny by Adele Hodgson, who creates the toys to raise money for a local hospice.
Graciously accepting the gift, the Princess of Wales said her daughter would “absolutely love” it, adding that Charlotte has “lots of teddies on her bed.”
“Well done, that must have taken a long time,” Kate said. “Thank you so much.”
The mentions come shortly after Princess Charlotte joined her family for their annual Christmas Day church outing, where she confidently greeted well-wishers and posed for photos.
In one lighthearted moment shared online, Prince William checked in with his daughter before a photo, asking, “Charlotte, are you okay?” to which she replied, “Yeah,” smiling as her father looked on.
