Jesse Eisenberg reveals he’s a daily patron of the New York Public Library
The actor spends most of his days at the New York Public Library, for creativity and focus
Jesse Eisenberg has shared that he visits the New York Public Library almost every day, a habit he has maintained for the past decade.
The 42-year-old actor credits the library as his main creative space, where he focuses on writing and developing ideas.
“I’m a daily patron of the library. That’s where I do all my work, to the point where I can’t get anything creative done if I’m not at a library,” Eisenberg told People.
He explained that he goes with a writer friend, and together they work on their individual projects while bouncing ideas off each other. “That’s how I’ve worked for about 10 years,” he added.
Eisenberg also brings his eight-year-old son, Banner, to explore other branches in New York City. “My kid’s school is near an amazing branch, and then across the street from the one I go to, there’s an amazing branch with a great children’s collection. If you’re a child in New York City and you’re interested in reading, it’s the most amazing place,” he said.
The actor, best known for playing Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network, has also shared that he avoids social media entirely.
Eisenberg admitted that he fears saying something inappropriate and prefers to explore his thoughts and philosophies through his characters instead.
“I’m not on that stuff for a few reasons,” he explained to The Times. “One is that I’m already a public person… Also, I would say something inappropriate, because I don’t have fully formed thoughts. But I’m good at writing characters with whom I can explore my philosophies in a way that doesn’t feel didactic.”
Eisenberg’s love for libraries and literature highlights a quieter, reflective side of the actor, contrasting with his high-profile Hollywood career.
