Apple CarPlay to support ChatGPT and Google Gemini

The future of the morning commute is looking significantly more intelligent. Apple is reportedly developing a feature that will allow popular AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to work natively within CarPlay.

This shift means drivers will no longer have to rely exclusively on Siri or fumble with their iPhones to get sophisticated answers while on the move.

By integrating these tools into the car's dashboard, Apple aims to make complex tasks—from drafting emails to brainstorming ideas—much safer and more intuitive.

According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to allow apps from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google to function through the vehicle’s infotainment system. However, there are some clever safety limits in place.

You won't be able to swap out the Siri button just yet; instead, drivers will need to open their preferred chatbot app manually.

To keep things smooth and hands-free, developers may be allowed to set these apps to "voice mode" the moment they are launched.

This development follows Apple's recent confirmation that Google Gemini will eventually join a future version of Siri. 

It signals a major change in how the tech giant handles artificial intelligence, moving away from a closed shop to a more collaborative approach.

While the feature is currently in the testing phase and hasn't been officially confirmed, it could start rolling out in the coming months.
