Michelle Obama debuts bold new look with ten ear piercings

Michelle Obama is embracing a sparkly new era of self-expression. During the Wednesday, 11 February episode of her IMO podcast, the 62-year-old former first lady revealed she recently sat for ten ear piercings at once.

Channelling the style of the "young people" in her life, she described the new look as a "constellation" of "beautiful adornment" featuring delicate clusters and twinkles.

The revelation sparked a hilarious sibling exchange with her co-host and brother, Craig Robinson. Robinson claimed he noticed the change immediately, despite Michelle’s playful doubts.

“I have always thought about getting some extra piercings in my ear and just never got around to it,” she explained, noting she had become "lazy" with her style after having children.

"As she sat in the chair, her excitement grew: “ ‘Oh, put one there and put one [there]. Oh yeah, let's try one there.’ ”

The most relatable moment came when she discussed her husband’s reaction. Michelle joked that it took Barack Obama three days to spot the ten new additions.

“He was like, ‘You haven't had your hair up, you've had your hair down.’ And I was like, ‘I don't know. I like sleep with you every night, dude, you know?’ ” This shift in style follows her recent discussions about the "freedom" she feels post-White House.

Having previously avoided hairstyles like braids to prevent them from becoming a "distraction" to the country, Michelle is now clearly enjoying the liberty of making choices solely for herself.
