FBI analyses new DNA evidence in search for abducted Nancy Guthrie
Reward reaches one million dollars as search for Nancy Guthrie intensifies
A special broadcast titled 'Bring Her Home' has aired on KVOA News 4 Tucson, featuring a poignant appeal from the family of Nancy Guthrie.
The mother of NBC journalist Savannah Guthrie disappeared from her Arizona home on 31 January, with authorities treating the case as an abduction.
In a joint statement, the Guthrie siblings urged the community to review camera footage and personal notes, stating: “Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realise is significant."
The investigation escalated after Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that DNA matching Nancy Guthrie was found on her porch alongside an unplugged security camera.
Investigators are currently analysing a secondary DNA sample recovered from a glove found near the property, which is being compared against national databases.
The FBI has offered a £78,000 reward, while the family has pledged approximately £780,000 for information leading to her recovery.
The search remains focused on specific timelines, including the late evening of 11 January and the early hours of 1 February. Savannah Guthrie, who recently returned to the Today studios, remains steadfast in her resolve to find her mother.
The family expressed the depth of their ongoing grief, noting: “We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder.”
All family members have been formally cleared as suspects as federal agents continue to examine suspected ransom notes.
