Ed Sheeran shares hopes for a third daughter to join his 'fun' family

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has spoken candidly about his desire to expand his family, expressing a hope for a third daughter.

The musician is already a father to five-year-old Lyra Antarctica and three-year-old Jupiter, whom he shares with his wife, Cherry Seaborn.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star, Sheeran reflected on the joys and challenges of raising young children close in age, noting that their shared milestones create a strong bond despite the occasional chaos of family life.

He remarked: “I dunno I think maybe I want another girl. They are so fun, it's up and down, when they’re tantruming it's real! They’re so close in age they’re like locked in. If you have them close together, like it was chaotic, then so good because they play together, bath together and go to school together, everything is locked in.”

The artist also addressed the complexities of raising children in the public eye. Sheeran revealed that he has implemented a strict policy against fan photographs when he is with his daughters to ensure he remains fully present as a parent.

This decision followed a distressing incident where his daughter fell while he was distracted by a request for a selfie.

He emphasised: “But it's far more important I'm being a dad to my daughter than a popstar to anyone else.”

His eldest daughter has reportedly adopted these boundaries herself, frequently telling members of the public that photos are not allowed when she is with her father.
