BAFTA TV Awards to be hosted by 'Taskmaster' star Greg Davies
Greg Davies will host the BAFTA Television Awards this May
Greg Davies, the well-known British comedian famous for hosting Taskmaster, is set to lead the BAFTA Television Awards this coming May.
Davies, who is also recognized for his work on The Inbetweeners and The Cleaner, will succeed Alan Cumming, the host of last year's BAFTA TV event.
This year's awards will take place at the iconic Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall on May 10, 2026.
It marks BAFTA’s first major gathering since the Film Awards, notable for airing Tourette’s advocate John Davidson’s controversial racial remarks.
The list of nominees for all categories in the BAFTA Television Awards and BAFTA Television Craft Awards will be announced on Tuesday at noon local time.
The Netflix hit series Adolescence is expected to make a significant impact this awards season.
Davies expressed, “I'm viewing this whole occasion as a chance to celebrate our cherished medium. Apart from a single commissioner, two execs, and a co-star I'm not on the best terms with, I'll strive to make it an enjoyable evening for everyone.”
Emma Baehr, the executive director of awards and content at BAFTA, commented: “His witty humor, welcoming presence, and enthusiasm will create an outstanding evening of celebrating the finest in British television.”
