Former participant of “The Bachelorette,” James McCoy Taylor faced another arrest in Texas related to his 2024 assault case — this happened even after he admitted guilt and was sentenced last year.

The 39-year-old found himself back in detention at Brazos County on Friday, but he managed to secure his release on the same day after posting a $10,000 surety bond, as reported by the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department, according to Fox News.

Taylor — known for his stint in season 12 of “The Bachelorette” in 2016 — was taken into custody on a warrant linked to an April 2024 incident, where a 19-year-old college student claimed he physically attacked her and stopped her from exiting his Texas home.

Initially, he was detained in August 2024 due to charges of causing bodily harm and unlawful confinement linked to the said event.

In April 2025, Taylor admitted to assaulting a 19-year-old student from Blinn College and was tasked to fulfill 80 hours of community service, pay $750 in penalties and $350 in court charges, along with attending anger management sessions.

He was also instructed to avoid any contact with the victim and forbidden from entering the Northgate Entertainment District.

The reality TV alum was taken into custody once more on Friday following a court decision to cancel his probation and issue a warrant on February 17 for his apparent failure to pay his fines in full.

The country musician paid $884 of the $1,184 in fines but remains indebted $300 and made a final $80 payment shortly before his arrest, as per court documents accessed by Fox News.

After his August 2024 arrest, Taylor released a statement to People asserting his innocence.

“Given my stature, it's puzzling to think I tried to ‘unlawfully restrain’ a woman, only for her to simply escape?… and head straight to her Uber parked just outside my place? Without any harm?” he shared with the outlet.

“I am someone who would never harm another person. I extend kindness to everyone I encounter.”

A document detailing probable cause obtained by the outlet suggests Taylor met the lady at a College Station bar before inviting her to his apartment, where they started kissing — until she expressed her desire to leave.

The woman informed investigators that he allegedly held her down and restrained her.

She further alleged that Taylor “inappropriately touched her” and “utilised his physical strength to keep her down and continue kissing her,” before she managed to free herself, exit through the front door, and call for authorities.

This wasn’t Taylor’s first encounter with law enforcement.

Back in September 2022, he faced arrest for driving under the influence and carrying a weapon unlawfully.

In November 2023, he was given a sentence of five days in the Brazos County Detention Center and had to pay a $500 penalty alongside $585 in court costs.

The DWI episode also led to a temporary suspension of his driver’s license.

Taylor's detention on Friday follows ABC's decision to cancel the forthcoming season of “The Bachelorette” after an unsettling video relating to Taylor Frankie Paul’s past domestic issues became public.

This decision comes amidst ongoing allegations involving her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, affecting her reality TV endeavors.
