Nikki Glaser admits she gets nervous meeting Taylor Swift

Nikki Glaser admits she gets nervous around Taylor Swift and prefers to admire the pop superstar from a distance rather than risk “acting a fool.”

The 41-year-old comedian spoke to Variety at the recent iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles, sharing that she struggles to keep her composure when meeting people she truly admires. 

“I find myself when I do meet people I really admire, I do act a fool and I can't control myself, my teeth chatter and stuff. I don't need her to deal with that. That's too much for her,” Glaser confessed.

A self-professed Swiftie who has met Swift only once before, Glaser revealed she intentionally avoided rehearsing what she might say. 

“My assistant on the way here was like, 'Do you want to practice like what you would say to her?' And I was like, 'No, because I don't want it to be rehearsed and I want it to come from the heart,'” she said. 

Instead, Glaser was content to observe Swift from afar, marveling at being in the same room as the superstar.

Glaser, who has hosted the Golden Globe Awards for the past two years, also confirmed she declined an invitation to join the dais for Netflix’s upcoming Kevin Hart roast, hosted by Shane Gillis. 

Citing a lack of fresh material and a packed schedule, she said, “I do not have the time right now in my schedule to commit to giving it what I want to give it. I'm coming up short with short jokes, if you know what I'm saying.”
