Chris Pratt calls Tokyo trip with son Jack ‘surreal’ and ‘really special’
The actor shares sweet messages for his wife, Katherine and their three younger children
Chris Pratt is creating special memories with his eldest son in Japan.
The 46-year-old Marvel and Super Mario Galaxy Movie star shared with Extra how meaningful it has been to explore Tokyo alongside his 13-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with ex Anna Faris.
"It's surreal. It's special for me because I brought my son, who's 13, and he loves Japanese food and sushi and Japanese culture," Pratt said.
"To be able to share this part of my life with him and explore this part of the world together makes it really special."
Pratt, who also has daughters Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and son Ford, 16 months, with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, took a moment during the interview to send a message to his family back home.
"I would love to give some extra love to my wife, Katherine, and my other three children, Lyla, Eloise, and Ford," he said. "Daddy loves you. Daddy misses you, and I'll see you home soon."
Earlier this month, Pratt revealed on Today that only Jack has seen him in movies, while his younger children haven’t yet, thanks to Schwarzenegger Pratt’s screen-time rules.
"My 5-year-old, my 3-year-old, and my 1-year-old have never seen movies," Pratt said. "Katherine is very old-school when it comes to screens and technology, so we’re waiting."
Pratt teased that one day, his kids will realize their dad is “really cool.” "There's gonna be a season, they're gonna realize their dad is really cool. They haven't realized it yet, but one day," he said with a smile.
The actor’s humor and playful energy are also appreciated by Schwarzenegger Pratt, who recently told PEOPLE that Pratt’s ability to lighten difficult moments makes him an invaluable partner.
"Even when not funny, someone who can make you laugh in a really hard time is really important," she said. "He definitely does that, so I'm really grateful for that."
