Jenny McCarthy has opened up about a frightening health ordeal, revealing she endured six months of what she describes as “living hell” before discovering the root cause, mold poisoning.

The 53-year-old TV star shared her experience during a recent podcast appearance, explaining that her health struggles began with persistent dental issues, including an infected root canal and recurring infections beneath her wisdom teeth.

“I had gone through six months of living hell,” McCarthy said, recalling the early stages of her condition, which left doctors searching for answers.

Her symptoms soon escalated beyond dental problems. McCarthy revealed she developed painful growths on her eye, initially dismissed as a hygiene issue.

“I’m like, ‘What the heck is this?’” she said, noting her frustration as symptoms continued to worsen without a clear diagnosis.

After repeated infections and unsuccessful treatments, McCarthy sought further medical evaluation.

It was then that a functional medicine specialist identified the underlying issue: exposure to toxic mold, also known as mycotoxin poisoning.

According to McCarthy, the toxins released by mold had severely impacted her body’s ability to heal, leading to ongoing infections and complications.

She also revealed that her preexisting health vulnerabilities may have made her more susceptible to the condition.

The situation became even more alarming when doctors warned of potential neurological risks if the toxins spread further.

“If this crosses the blood-brain barrier, you’re going to be in the hospital having seizures,” she recalled being told.

Compounding the issue, McCarthy said the prolonged illness led to antibiotic resistance, rendering standard treatments ineffective.

“I was taking all these antibiotics that weren’t working for me anymore,” she explained.

Despite the severity of her condition, McCarthy shared that she is now following a targeted treatment plan and working toward recovery, marking a turning point after months of uncertainty and distress.
