Channing Tatum has provided a candid update regarding his recovery from significant shoulder surgery, admitting that the process has been "the lowest of the lows."

Taking to his Instagram account on Monday, the 45-year-old actor shared a video clip revealing his surgical scar and discussing the psychological toll of his rehabilitation.

The Magic Mike star confessed that he has been "mentally up and down" more than ever before in his life while dealing with the physical limitations of the injury.

"This has been a rough one," Tatum shared, describing how his muscles have "atrophied so much" that he currently feels "like a toddler" in terms of his strength and coordination.

Despite the emotional and physical setbacks, the actor shared a positive development with his followers, confirming that his medical team has finally cleared him to return to a full training regime.

"Good news is, though, doctor finally gave me the green light so I can train, so it’s a good day finally," he remarked. The timing of the "green light" is critical, as Tatum revealed he has only six weeks remaining to prepare for his next major production.

This upcoming project is a highly anticipated motorcycle love story centred on the Isle of Man TT races, which is being produced in collaboration with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios.

Tatum’s recent career has been marked by a return to high-stakes physical roles, including his performance in the 2025 crime comedy Roofman, which recently debuted to strong reviews on streaming platforms.

As he begins what he describes as "the grind" for his new film, he expressed a renewed sense of mental clarity and determination. The Logan Lucky actor told fans he is finally "starting to come out the other side" and is feeling mentally better than he has in months.

He concluded his update by asking for luck as he embarks on the intensive six-week transformation required for his role as a professional road racer.
