Nikki Glaser shares surprising take on monogamy in long-term relationship
The comedian says physical cheating doesn’t bother her, but emotional connection does
Comedian Nikki Glaser is candidly sharing her unconventional views on relationships, revealing she would not be bothered if her longtime partner, Chris Convy, were physically involved with someone else.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Glaser explained that while she personally prefers monogamy in her own behavior, she doesn’t hold her partner to the same standard when it comes to physical intimacy.
“In a relationship, I don’t really care if my boyfriend were to hook up,” she said, adding that the arrangement is not reciprocal.
“I’m not someone who likes to hook up when I’m in a relationship… but I don’t care if someone else were to.”
Glaser, 41, has been in an on-and-off relationship with Convy since 2013.
While her stance may raise eyebrows, she drew a clear distinction between physical and emotional boundaries, emphasizing that emotional connection would be far more difficult for her to accept.
“If he were to watch shows together or text and share memes, I’d be like, ‘What are you doing?’” she said, noting that shared experiences and emotional intimacy are what she values most in a relationship.
The comedian described her perspective as something she developed in her late twenties, influenced by past experiences.
She acknowledged that jealousy has surfaced at times, particularly when expectations around transparency were not clearly communicated.
During the conversation, podcast host Alex Cooper also referenced Glaser’s previous comments to Howard Stern about commitment feeling like “settling.” Glaser admitted her views have evolved, though she still approaches relationships with a pragmatic outlook.
“You do not know that the person you are with is the best person for you,” she said, reflecting on the vast number of potential partners in the world. “Statistically, there could be someone better.”
