Jennifer Lopez is officially entering what she calls her "Happy Era" as she prepares for a high-profile return to the genre that defined her early career.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 56-year-old actor and mogul expressed her excitement for her upcoming Netflix film, Office Romance.

The project represents a significant milestone, marking Lopez’s first starring role in a romantic comedy since her 2022 releases Shotgun Wedding and Marry Me.

To celebrate the transition, Lopez shared never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photographs from the set of her 2002 classic Maid in Manhattan, captured by photographer Barry Wetcher.

“So many feelings! Such wonderful memories!” she wrote, reflecting on her initial rise as a rom-com icon. However, she was quick to clarify that Office Romance will not be a return to the "sweet wholesomeness" of her earlier work.

During a previous appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Lopez teased that the film is "a little raunchy," comparing its tone to R-rated hits like Knocked Up and There’s Something About Mary.

Set for a global release this summer, Office Romance features an ensemble cast including Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein as Lopez’s on-screen love interest.

The film also stars Amy Sedaris, Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, and Tony Hale. Industry analysts suggest the shift toward more mature, edgy comedy signals a strategic evolution in Lopez's brand.

As the star prepares for the summer launch, fans are eagerly anticipating whether this new "raunchy" direction will redefine the modern romantic comedy in the same way her earlier hits did for the early 2000s.
