Shakira has been criticised by fans for her seemingly detached response when a cameraman tripped in front of her during a live show.

A video of the incident is currently circulating on X (formerly Twitter), depicting the Colombian pop star, 49, calmly stepping over the crew member on the ground.

The video shows the cameraman filming Shakira as she progresses through a path among the crowd, but he stumbles over some gear during the process.

Shakira then maneuvers around the cameraman lying on the ground, maintaining her route to the stage to carry on with her performance.

One user sharing the video on X commented: “The cameraman filming Shakira trips, and she makes no effort to offer help.”

Another remarked: “Completely lacking empathy. If she were the one who tripped, the show would probably pause for a few minutes, right? …

“No surprises here, it’s just the world we inhabit these days.”

While some labeled her behavior as cold, others stood by Shakira, pointing out that the event follows a strict schedule, and support was available for the cameraman.

One supporter mentioned: “The event follows strict timing, pausing to assist the cameraman could’ve disrupted the choreography.”

Another added: “Others are there who can assist him. She has to proceed, as delaying her stage entrance disrupts the show.

“This is how live performances operate.”

This incident emerges a few months after Shakira experienced her own on-stage fall.

In February, during a performance in San Salvador, Shakira was in the middle of her popular track Si Te Vas when she unexpectedly twisted her right ankle.

She then fell over onto her side, bringing down her microphone stand with her as she landed on her elbow.

At this point, Shakira halted her singing amid audible gasps from the crowd.

But maintaining her professionalism, she quickly stood up and resumed the performance – with her band continuing to play while her guitarist encouraged her.

Currently, the artist is on her expansive Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, translating to ‘Women No Longer Cry’.

Her upcoming performance is scheduled for May 2 in Rio De Janeiro, followed by a series of shows in the US.
