Prince Harry and Meghan Markle snapped selfies with fans, creating a "surreal" moment during their visit to Australia.

The duke and duchess participated in the Scar Tree Walk in Melbourne on the third day of their Australian tour. This route, steeped in Aboriginal tradition, merges modern culture with the rich heritage of the Kulin nation's Indigenous people.

While walking beside the busy Yarra River, a favored path for runners in Australia’s largest city, the pair paused so astonished fans could snap photos.

A considerable number of photographers and TV crews quickly gathered around Harry and Meghan, prompting the arrival of five officers to help control the increasing media frenzy.

Meghan wore blue jeans paired with a light-tan trench coat over a white T-shirt with a red heart that had the word "Mama" inside.

The shirt is thought to support the Alliance of Moms, an organization helping young people in the Los Angeles foster care system.

It's a moving tribute to her friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, who founded the group and tragically lost her son to Covid-19 at the age of nine.

Harry, opting for a casual look, wore a light blue button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, matched with dark jeans.

The prince chatted with local resident Rohan Davies and his three-year-old daughter, Heidi, who described the event as "surreal".

"He complimented her lovely top, and when I asked if we could take a picture, he agreed," Mr. Davies recounted.

The royal couple graciously fulfilled many photo requests, including a woman who held her baby while welcoming them to Australia.

Upon hearing a young boy praise Meghan's former role in Suits, Harry stepped back to let the fan capture a moment with his wife.

Brazilian traveler Sofia Rocha, 29, paused her run by the river when she noticed the excitement. "I never expected to be so close to such an influential couple," she remarked.

"They appeared very pleasant, patient, and eager to converse with everyone."

This weekend, Meghan is scheduled to appear at a wellness retreat in Sydney, where fans can pay an additional AUD$330 (£175) for a group snapshot as part of a VIP package.

Basic tickets are approximately $1,780 (£942), with the enhanced experience costing around $2,110 (£1,116), which includes a private accommodation and a special goodie bag.
