Jessica Vosk has finally revealed how she feels when the audience sobs during her most intense scenes in the new Broadway musical, Beaches.

The show is based on Iris Rainer Dart’s bestselling 1985 novel, which was famously adapted into a film in 1988.

The narrative explores an "intense 30-year friendship between two very different women" whose bond survives rivalries, failed marriages, and ultimately, devastating losses.

Speaking with People magazine, Vosk shared her experience of playing the legendary character Cee Cee Bloom alongside Kelli Barrett’s Bertie White.

The forty-two-year-old actress and singer admitted that it feels "terrible" to witness the audience become so emotional during her performance.

"Those last 20 minutes of the show, the audience is kind of a puddle, and I can feel that as the person sitting on stage wrapping the show up," Vosk explained.

She noted that hearing audible sobs from the stalls is a regular occurrence, describing the experience as both "human" and "really necessary" for the story's impact.

Despite the heavy atmosphere, the "Two Steps Ahead" singer expressed a profound sense of gratitude for the connection she shares with the crowd.

"It’s an honour to do that every single night," she admitted, noting that the collective emotion is a testament to the show's power.

Beaches, A New Musical, celebrated its official opening at the Majestic Theatre on April 22, 2026. The production is currently scheduled for a limited engagement and will mark its final performance on September 6, 2026.
