Ryan Reynolds reveals surprising new plans for 'Deadpool'
Ryan Reynolds is hinting at what's ahead for Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds is hinting at what's ahead for Deadpool, and he seems to already have some plans in mind.
Following his role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel enthusiasts have been curious about the character's next move, and in a recent discussion, Reynolds dropped some clues.
During an appearance on Today’s Sunday Sitdown Live, Reynolds was questioned if he had been contemplating about Deadpool.
“I've got some stuff roughly outlined,” Reynolds mentioned.
He continued, “I don’t think I’ll make him the main focus again. I see him more as a supporting character, you know?”
The actor expressed that Deadpool is “a person who shines in a team.”
Though a potential fourth Deadpool movie hasn’t been officially announced, whispers about Reynolds returning as his wild superhero in Avengers: Doomsday are buzzing online.
The actor has dismissed the rumours about appearing in the Avengers, stating in September 2025 that he hasn’t “set foot on the film’s set.”
Doomsday, launching on December 18, is thought to be a send-off for the X-Men characters prior to its reboot, a project by director Jake Schreier.
The character Deadpool is closely tied to the X-Men, whom Avengers: Doomsday intends to reintroduce.
Known faces Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit) will return to their parts.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are steering the film with a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
