Ashley Park details chaotic croissant scene in 'Emily in Paris'
The actress says she 'will never forget' the chaotic pastry fight scene on set
Ashley Park has reflected on one of the most unexpectedly chaotic moments from filming Emily in Paris, a scene in which she ended up “fighting” co-star Lily Collins with croissants.
Speaking at PaleyFest LA 2026, Park told People she “will never forget” filming the pastry-filled confrontation, which remains one of the standout comedic moments from the series.
“Oh my gosh… that was actually interesting,” Park said, noting that while their on-screen characters often clash, her real-life friendship with Collins is very different.
“We’ve never had a fight like that. We communicate very well.”
The actress explained that the scene required multiple takes and careful timing since the soft pastries were harder to control than expected.
“Croissants are very light, so in order to aim it properly, you have to really chuck it hard,” she said. “I think the take they used, I really chucked it at her.”
Park added that the moment became unexpectedly memorable when she noticed the aftermath on set.
“I will never forget the imprint of croissant crumbs on her face,” she recalled. “We had to stop. I was like, ‘Are you okay?’”
Despite the chaotic setup, Park emphasized that the scene reflected the creative trust between the two actors, whose off-screen friendship helped shape their on-screen chemistry.
The Netflix comedy-drama follows Emily Cooper, played by Collins, an American marketing executive navigating life and work in Paris after relocating from Chicago.
