Louise Thompson claims Alex Cooper 'stole' podcast name in new feud

Louise Thompson has sparked a public dispute with podcast host Alex Cooper after claiming that Cooper copied an idea she once developed for a podcast name.

The former Made in Chelsea star made the allegations in a TikTok video, where she addressed viewers candidly, saying she was speaking out despite uncertainty about how it would be received.

Thompson referred to Cooper’s podcast production company “Unwell,” suggesting that the concept closely resembled a name she had previously considered during a difficult period in her life. 

She claimed she had discussed the idea during a meeting with industry executives and had noted it down while recovering from health struggles.

According to Thompson, she had explored variations of the name “Unwell” or “Unwellness” as part of a potential project, linking it to her personal experiences with illness and recovery. 

She said she later noticed Cooper launching a podcast brand under a similar name, which led her to question whether the idea had been shared within overlapping professional circles.

Cooper launched her “Unwell” media brand in 2023, which has since expanded into wellness products and related ventures.

Thompson, who has previously spoken openly about her health challenges following complications after childbirth, said she felt frustrated by what she described as a “dog-eat-dog” industry environment.

She added that while she was not claiming certainty, she found the similarities between the ideas “suspicious,” suggesting that multiple parties may have had access to overlapping discussions.

The comments have added to ongoing online discussion around influencer branding, intellectual property in digital media, and competition within the podcasting industry.
