Jamie Lynn Sigler has candidly reflected on the profound personal struggles she endured while starring in the legendary television series The Sopranos.
The 44-year-old American actress and singer, who portrayed Meadow Soprano from 1999 until 2007, spoke with PEOPLE magazine to promote her forthcoming book, "And So It Is . . . A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope."
Sigler revealed that during the show’s height, she was secretly grappling with a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, eating disorders, and an abusive marriage to her former manager, Abraxas "A.J." Discala.
Reflecting on those turbulent years, the Cry Baby songstress admitted that she has avoided watching old episodes of the series for quite some time.
"It's not about my performance, it was just about the pain that I knew was underneath," Sigler stated, describing herself as "fragile," "confused," and "young" during that period.
She shared that the process of writing her memoir proved therapeutic, noting that her therapist felt the book clearly mapped out her path toward healing.
Sigler’s memoir, which is set for release on 5 May 2026, promises to provide an intimate look at her haunting past and the abrupt, overwhelming success that defined her early career.
As she prepares to share her story with the public, Sigler remains a vocal advocate for those living with chronic illness.
While she continues to navigate life with multiple sclerosis, she is also focusing on future creative endeavours and her ongoing role as a supportive figure within the disability community, using her platform to inspire others facing similar hardships.
