Alden Ehrenreich has candidly discussed a particular trait among high-profile actors that causes significant frustration on professional film sets.

During an interview with Variety, the Oppenheimer star revealed that he is deeply vexed by notable figures who arrive for filming without adequate preparation.

Ehrenreich highlighted the tension that arises when significant resources are at stake, particularly during complex sequences.

"I’ve had experiences of being on sets where there’s a ton of money [involved] and everybody’s got to do their job for this take because a thing has to blow up in the background," he explained.

The actor noted that the issue is particularly prevalent among those who are "very established" in the industry. He criticised the failure to master scripts, asserting, "And then people... come in and don’t know their lines, which is, you know, the basic unit of your job."

Ehrenreich further rejected the common justification that avoiding memorisation allows for a more natural performance. He quipped that while some claim this "ethos" keeps things fresh, the reality is far more disruptive for the production team.

"I’ve watched people not doing that, where it meant the whole crew gets home later and producers are spending more," Ehrenreich remarked.

He expressed further concern that because of a star's "big name," colleagues often feel uncomfortable demanding better standards.

"The fact that no one feels comfortable being like, ‘Hey, you need to know your lines,’" he added. Ehrenreich, who rose to fame in Solo: A Star Wars Story, continues to receive acclaim for his disciplined approach to major cinematic projects.
