Zendaya’s Met Gala absence sparks attention amid Tom Holland relationship rumours

Zendaya is expected to skip this year’s Met Gala 2026, marking a rare absence from one of fashion’s biggest nights.

The 29-year-old actress, according to reports from ELLE, will not attend the event scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. 

Her team has confirmed her absence but has not disclosed a specific reason.

The Euphoria star, who has become a regular highlight at the Met Gala over the years, is widely regarded for her standout red-carpet appearances, having attended multiple editions from 2015 through 2025.

While no official explanation has been given, her decision comes after a packed professional schedule, including promotions for her upcoming projects and filming commitments.

Her absence also follows a period of increased public attention around her personal life, including speculation about her relationship with actor Tom Holland. 

The pair, who reportedly got engaged in 2025, have recently been seen spending time together in more low-key settings, including a padel match outing.

Although engagement and marriage rumours continue to circulate, neither Zendaya nor Holland has publicly confirmed details about a wedding.

The couple, both major stars in the Marvel franchise, are also set to reunite on screen in upcoming projects, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, set to release earlier in July.
