Britney Spears has pleaded guilty to a reduced “wet reckless” charge in connection with a March 2026 DUI arrest in Ventura County, avoiding jail time under a plea agreement, according to court proceedings this week.

The singer entered the plea through her attorney on Monday, marking a downgrade from the original DUI charge.

The resolution allows Spears to avoid incarceration, instead facing 12 months of summary probation, a $571 fine, and mandatory participation in a three-month DUI education program.

As part of the sentencing terms, Spears was also ordered to complete ongoing court-directed requirements, including mental health and substance-related treatment programs, according to court records.

The case stems from an incident in March 2026 that led to her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Prosecutors ultimately agreed to the reduced charge, which is commonly used in California plea deals involving alcohol-related driving offenses where full DUI charges are not pursued to trial.

The legal resolution comes after weeks of proceedings in Ventura County court, where attorneys negotiated the plea agreement ahead of trial.

The outcome effectively closes the immediate risk of jail time for the pop star while keeping her under court supervision for the next year.

Spears has not publicly commented in detail on the court decision, and representatives have not provided further statements regarding the case.
