Justin Bieber absent from Met Gala 2026 as Hailey Bieber makes solo appearance

While Hailey Bieber commanded attention at the 2026 Met Gala in New York City, her husband Justin Bieber spent the evening away from the spotlight, reportedly keeping a low profile in upstate New York.

The singer, 31, did not accompany Hailey to fashion’s biggest night on Monday, instead being spotted in Millbrook, New York, roughly a two-hour drive from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he was seen interacting with fans over the past several days.

According to E! News, Bieber has been staying out of the public eye and did not share any Met Gala-related posts on social media. 

His last appearance at the prestigious event was in 2021, while Hailey has remained a frequent attendee.

At this year’s gala, Hailey Bieber appeared alone in a Saint Laurent ensemble featuring a striking 24-karat gold breastplate sculpted to her body, drawing widespread attention on the red carpet.

Justin’s quiet presence in New York contrasts with his wife’s high-profile fashion moment, though recent comments from Hailey suggest the couple continues to maintain a supportive dynamic behind the scenes.

Speaking at Vogue Australia’s Forces of Fashion summit earlier this year, Hailey reflected on balancing work and motherhood while crediting her husband for his support.

“Balance is a difficult word because I don’t know if it’s possible to accomplish full balance,” she said. “Having a great partner is really important, and sharing responsibilities.”

She added that Justin often supports family life during her work commitments, noting that their son, Jack, spends time at home with his father while she travels for business.

Justin has made only one major red carpet appearance in 2026 so far, attending the Grammy Awards where he received multiple nominations.
