A Philadelphia community is rallying behind a grieving mother, Lisa Dixon, following the tragic death of her eldest son, Kenneth Singleton.

The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that the thirty-eight-year-old was fatally shot at a bar on Monday.

The incident occurred during a local pool tournament, where investigators subsequently discovered shell casings near the billiards table.

Known affectionately to his loved ones as "Scooter," Singleton was described by his mother as a man who did not drink and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The heartbreak is compounded by a devastating coincidence in timing for the Dixon family. This latest tragedy occurred just five days before the fourth anniversary of the death of Kenneth’s younger brother, Brandon Dixon.

Brandon, a former high school football standout and youth coach, was killed at a gas station on 9 May 2022.

Reflecting on her renewed grief, Lisa Dixon told 10 Philadelphia, "I don't want nobody else to go through the pain that I'm going through because it hurts real bad." She added poignantly, "They say, 'Lisa you're strong.' But damn when am I allowed to be weak."

While no arrests have been made in Kenneth's case, a twenty-thousand-dollar reward is currently standing for information leading to a conviction.

The family continues to navigate the legal process regarding Brandon’s death, following the August 2024 arrest of Aliaan Harris.

Both brothers leave behind young children, with the family now focused on honouring their legacies as devoted fathers and community figures.
