Harry Potter crossover: Jason Isaacs welcomes Lox Pratt, the new 'Draco Malfoy'
Stars of the upcoming 'Harry Potter' series made a splash at the BAFTA TV Awards
Stars of the upcoming Harry Potter series made a splash at the BAFTA TV Awards, where the red carpet offered a moment fans of J.K. Rowling’s magical universe would appreciate.
Before the event in London, Jason Isaacs, known for portraying Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, warmly greeted Lox Pratt, who steps into the role of Draco Malfoy in HBO‘s new series, taking over from Tom Felton.
Johnny Flynn will bring Isaacs' character to life in the HBO production. Isaacs shared his admiration for Flynn in a post on X (formerly Twitter) last year.
“A wonderful actor, an awesome person, and, annoyingly, an exceptionally good musician as well. I couldn’t have passed the snake-adorned baton to a more deserving person,” Isaacs remarked.
Later that night, Paapa Essiedu, who will portray Severus Snape in the Potter series, along with Nick Frost, cast as Rubeus Hagrid, presented the award for Supporting Actress to Adolescence star Christine Tremarco. They injected a bit of humor when announcing the nominees.
Throughout the introduction, Essiedu humorously opted to address Frost as “Hagrid” rather than using his actual name.
“Let’s celebrate some incredible performances; here are the nominees, Hagrid,” he said, looking towards Frost. “My name is Nick,” replied the Hot Fuzz comedian, “I sat next to you at the readthrough.”
