Streaming giant Netflix has prompted a divided reaction with its star-studded comedy special, "The Roast of Kevin Hart," as viewers take to social media to debate whether the jokes landed or fell flat.

Netflix recently showcased highlights from its highly anticipated live event, "The Roast of Kevin Hart," featuring an array of A-list stars, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tom Brady, and Serena Williams, who took turns mocking the comedian.

The post captures fiery punchlines and shocked audience reactions from the special, which was a cornerstone of the platform's "Netflix Is a Joke Fest."

In the clips, celebrities deliver cutting jokes from a podium, with Hart himself seen laughing along.

Despite the impressive lineup, the special appears to have split opinions.

The comments section quickly filled with critiques, with many finding the comedy lacklustre.

"WAS I THE ONLY ONE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS ROAST??" one user asked, while another stated bluntly, "Not a single joke was funny." A third person echoed the sentiment, writing, "That shyt was not funny."

Several viewers also drew unfavourable comparisons to a previous event, with one commenter declaring it "came nowhere close to Tom Brady roast."

However, not all feedback was negative, as many fans singled out specific performers for praise.

Comedian Sheryl Underwood was a clear favourite, with one viewer writing, "Sheryl underwood was the funniest one."

Another added that she "had the best... most confident delivery." Others championed different comics, leaving comments like "Nobody will ever top Nikki fucking Glaser" and "Pete Davidson murdered that set."

The varied reviews suggest that while Netflix's live comedy push drew a huge audience, the punchlines left them well and truly divided.
