Nicholas Galitzine is finally indulging in the one thing he’d been waiting for after months of intense physical preparation for Masters of the Universe: a “disgusting” cheat meal, he says he had been dreaming about during training.

Speaking to People at the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, May 18, the 31-year-old actor opened up about life after the strict diet and workout regimen he followed to transform into He-Man for the upcoming fantasy epic.

“It wasn’t mentally difficult. I was so mentally ready to eat something disgusting,” Galitzine said, describing the moment filming wrapped.

“I want to say I had a combination of sushi and pizza, and I just was like, ‘Give it all to me.’”

The actor said the long-awaited post-filming meal more than lived up to expectations. “Better. Food is everything to me. It truly is,” he added.

Galitzine, known for his roles in Red, White & Royal Blue and The Idea of You, takes on the iconic role of He-Man in the new adaptation of Masters of the Universe, stepping into a character previously portrayed by Dolph Lundgren in the 1987 film.

The transformation required months of intense training and bulking, something Galitzine has previously described as the toughest challenge of his career.

In earlier remarks to People, he said the process was “the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” adding that while it was grueling, it also felt deeply empowering.

“Every single day you have to wake up and you can see the peak of the mountain vaguely,” he explained.

“Especially when you’re bulking. It would be insincere for me to say that it was easy.”

Despite the physical demands, Galitzine said he would not maintain that level of size year-round, joking that a future director even encouraged him to “eat as much as you want and stop working out.”

The upcoming film brings together a star-studded cast, including Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Jared Leto, and Alison Brie, reimagining the legendary battle for Eternia for a new generation.

Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5.
