Glen Powell recalls bizarre fan who eats photos of his face every day
The actor revealed a fan has been eating photos of his face in a viral TikTok challenge
Glen Powell has revealed some of the strangest fan encounters he has experienced, including one involving a woman who regularly eats photos of his face in hopes of landing a role in one of his projects.
The 37-year-old actor shared the bizarre story during a comedy actors roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, where he spoke alongside stars including Harrison Ford, Riz Ahmed, Owen Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Zach Braff.
According to Powell, the unusual fan interaction centered around a TikTok creator who began posting videos of herself eating printed photos of the actor every day until she is cast as an extra in one of his films or television shows.
“There’s a woman in London who has been printing out pictures of my face for the last 80 days and has eaten my face every day,” Powell said during the discussion.
The actor explained that he only learned about the trend while attending the red carpet premiere of his film The Running Man, when someone unexpectedly pointed out that the fan was attending the event.
“They’re like, ‘Hey, the girl that eats your face is on the red carpet,’” Powell recalled. “I go, ‘What are you talking about?’”
The revelation shocked several actors participating in the discussion, with Zach Braff questioning how the fan managed to gain access to the event.
“That’s what I was like,” Powell joked. “‘Guys, come on, this is a real liability.’”
Powell also described another unsettling experience involving a fan who asked him to autograph what appeared to be a private family photograph.
“I’m sitting there like, ‘Where did you get that?’” he said, prompting reactions from fellow actors who described the encounter as “scary” and “chilling.”
Despite the bizarre interactions, Powell also spoke about lighter aspects of his career during the conversation, including his experience wearing heavy prosthetics for his upcoming series Chad Powers.
The actor said the transformation offered a sense of creative freedom and allowed him to step away from his public image while performing.
“There’s something really fun about it,” Powell said, though he clarified that fully immersive method acting “won’t become a lifestyle.”
