NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs has publicly addressed his turbulent relationship with rapper Cardi B for the first time since the two were filmed in a heated row outside a Maryland coffee shop last month.

Speaking to TMZ in a video published on Wednesday, Diggs, 32, appeared relaxed as he responded to questions about where things currently stand between himself and the "I Like It" hitmaker.

"That's my child's mother. I love her to death," he told the outlet, before deflecting further questions about their relationship status by simply saying: "You have to ask her."

Diggs downplays the altercation

When the paparazzi pressed Diggs on the explosive row he and Cardi B, 33, were caught having outside the coffee shop and gym in Maryland, the former New England Patriots player was notably nonchalant about the whole incident.

"What argument? I don't even think that was an argument," he said, pointing out that he had remained calm throughout the exchange.

The outlet noted that Cardi had appeared considerably more fired up during the confrontation. Diggs responded to that observation by saying: "That's okay … women get like that sometimes."

Despite the public spectacle, Diggs was firm in his assessment of the pair's current dynamic, stressing that the two are "great."

A turbulent on-again, off-again romance

Diggs and Cardi B first went public with their romance in June 2025, after going Instagram-official the previous month. The couple welcomed a son together later that year, but their relationship hit the rocks when they split in February — just months after the birth.

Fans were taken by surprise last month when the former couple appeared to reconcile, reuniting publicly at Diggs' Mother's Day event and displaying considerable affection throughout the occasion.

However, the reunion proved short-lived. Just days later, the two were photographed mid-argument outside the coffee shop and gym in Maryland, raising fresh questions about the state of their relationship.

Cardi's take on the incident

In the aftermath of the row, Cardi B addressed the reports herself, offering a candid and characteristically unfiltered explanation for her behaviour.

"Sometimes I forget I'm a celebrity," she tweeted. "Damn y'all ain't never cuss your babydad out when you hungry?"

As of now, neither party has confirmed whether they are back together, with Diggs pointing firmly back to Cardi for any further answers on the matter.
