Channel 4’s ‘The Dunblane Tapes’ secures global reach via Serial Maven
Channel 4’s documentary 'The Dunblane Tapes' gripping film explores the impact of the tragic 1996 Dunblane school shooting
The Dunblane Tapes features the repercussions of the 1996 Dunblane school tragedy and the grassroots activism that brought about pivotal handgun legislation reforms in the UK.
The documentary includes previously unseen footage recorded by mourning father John Crozier, offering an intimate insight into one of Britain's most impactful public advocacy movements.
It highlights the campaign led by three mothers who, outraged by the shooter's legal ownership of four guns and over a thousand bullets, pushed a nation-wide drive for the prohibition of private handgun possession in the UK.
The Dunblane Tapes aired on Channel 4 in February and is now set to be presented to international purchasers at Sunny Side of the Doc this month.
“The Dunblane Tapes is a profoundly human story about grief, resilience and the power of collective action in the face of unimaginable loss. While the events at the heart of the film are rooted in the UK, its themes resonate far beyond one country or one tragedy,” remarked Serial Maven head Solange Attwood.
“At Serial Maven Studios, we are focused on partnering with premium producers and distinctive authored filmmakers whose work brings both emotional depth and cultural relevance to international audiences.”
