Pink reveals fear of heights but says she will never stop aerial performances
  • Pink confirmed she has a genuine fear of heights despite her famous aerial performances
  • She said the stunts turn 50-year-old men into wide-eyed six-year-old boys every night
  • Pink will host the 2026 Tony Awards on 7 June

Pink has never let a fear stand between her and a good performance — and that includes a very real terror of heights.

The fear behind the flights

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, 2 June, the 46-year-old "Raise Your Glass" singer addressed the apparent contradiction between her well-known signature aerial stunts and her genuine phobia of heights — something that visibly surprised host Seth Meyers, 52.

"You are known for your aerial performances, which is why I was shocked to hear that you are afraid of heights," Meyers said.

Pink responded by recounting a telling moment from years past involving her husband, Carey.

"Once, Carey my husband was driving me to the 'Don't Let Me Get Me' video, which was like 854 years ago, and we were driving along a cliff and he's reckless. I said, 'Let me out or I'll never speak to you again.' I had to walk. I cannot handle heights," Pink recalled.

She went on to explain the philosophy that keeps her flying regardless.

"And that's why I do that. I believe in feeling the fear and doing it anyway."

Why she keeps going up

When Meyers pressed her on how she manages to quiet the fear once she is airborne, Pink offered a characteristically candid answer — one rooted in the reaction she gets from the crowd.

"It's so freeing. My mom was once like, 'Aren't you ever going to stay on the ground?' And I was like, 'Why would I?'" she said. "If I can do this, if I can convince people to shoot me out of a stage floor, why wouldn't I do that? It's so much fun."

The "Just Give Me a Reason" singer added that the impact on her audiences is ultimately what drives her.

"It turns 50-year-old men into 6-year-old boys... Like the first time you see magic," she said. "I get that every night from people. That's why I'm so bored at home."

Tony Awards teases

Pink's chat show appearance came just days before she is set to host the 2026 Tony Awards on 7 June. Also on 2 June, the singer sat down with CBS Mornings to offer a glimpse of what viewers can expect on the night.

"There will be acrobatic moments, but not in the way that you would normally see me doing acrobatic moments," Pink said, adding, "I know there's a harness or two."

She also hinted at an opening number that is set to be both spectacular and deliberately self-deprecating, with 170 performers expected on stage.

"It is goofy and over-the-top and it's sort of a nod back — it'll all make sense — and there's gonna be 170 people on stage. It's gonna be so fun," Pink said of the opening number. "And I'm an idiot from the very first moment, which was very important to me."
