Ciara paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband, Russell Wilson, after the Super Bowl-winning quarterback officially announced his retirement from professional football following a remarkable 14-year NFL career.

Wilson, 37, shared the news in an emotional Instagram video on June 3, reflecting on the journey that took him from a young football hopeful to one of the league’s most accomplished quarterbacks.

The retirement announcement was shared jointly with Ciara, the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL, and CBS, where Wilson also confirmed he will begin a new chapter as a sports analyst.

Reacting to the announcement, Ciara expressed her admiration for her husband in a touching message.

“The best in the world! There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much,” she wrote.

The video montage featured highlights from Wilson’s football career alongside personal family moments, as the veteran quarterback looked back on the dedication and perseverance that shaped his success.

Wilson recalled waking up before sunrise to train with his father and brother, explaining how football evolved from a childhood passion into a lifelong calling.

Throughout the video, he thanked the coaches, teammates and supporters who helped him along the way, while also acknowledging former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll for believing in him when many doubted his potential.

Wilson credited Carroll for giving an opportunity to a young quarterback who was often told he was too small to succeed in the NFL.

The quarterback also reflected on his years in Seattle, where he led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl title in 2014 and established himself as one of the franchise’s greatest players.

Beyond football, Wilson highlighted his work with patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital, describing those experiences as some of the most meaningful moments of his career.

He reserved special gratitude for Ciara, calling the singer his “greatest blessing,” best friend and partner throughout his journey.

Wilson also shared an inspiring message for his children, encouraging them to believe in themselves and never allow others to define their potential.

“There will be moments in life where people tell you you're too small, too different, or just simply not enough,” he said. “Don't let others cast their fears of greatness upon you.”

The athlete concluded his announcement by revealing his next professional move, confirming that he will join CBS Sports and appear on The NFL Today as an analyst.

Wilson leaves the game with a decorated legacy that began when the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

After leading the franchise to a Super Bowl championship, he later spent time with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants before bringing his playing career to a close.
