Sia has been photographed looking strikingly different after abandoning her trademark wig and venturing out without make-up to a farmer's market in Los Angeles. In photographs obtained by The U.S. Sun, the singer was seen out and about with her two-year-old son, Somersault Wonder, on Sunday, 7 June.

A rare public sighting

The Elastic Heart singer wore a pink baseball cap and an oversized trench coat as she browsed produce at the market. For a significant portion of her career, the singer and songwriter had been synonymous with elaborate wigs that concealed most of her face — making the candid, make-up-free outing all the more notable.

A private life suddenly in the spotlight

The 50-year-old has long guarded her personal life closely, so when she filed for divorce from her husband, Daniel Bernard, last year, many fans were taken aback — not only by the split, but by the revelation that she had quietly welcomed a son, Somersault, during the marriage.

The couple had wed in December 2023 in Italy, ending their union just 26 months later. Court documents cite "irreconcilable differences" as the stated grounds for the divorce.

Custody dispute turns acrimonious

The separation has since developed into a contentious custody battle, with Daniel — an oncologist — seeking full custody of Somersault.

According to documents reported by Page Six, he claimed to be the "only safe and reliable parent" and described Sia as a "serious and immediate danger" to their child. In the court papers, he further alleged: "Sia is an unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse and addiction, rendering her incapable of providing safe or stable care for Summi."

The judge ultimately denied Daniel's application for full custody and directed the couple to continue operating under their existing custody arrangement.

Sia's wider family

Somersault is not Sia's only child. The singer also has two other sons, whom she adopted in 2019 when they were on the verge of ageing out of the foster care system.
